๐Ÿ”— CLICK THRU 007 : February 2025

Too much is happening ... let's cowork about it?

This monthโ€™s round-up includes a special invitation to hang with me this spring, a piece on #FYPcore, advice on how to write a cold email, and more!

As always, this is a choose-your-own-adventure sort of endeavor, so youโ€™re invited to dip your toe in one link at a time, dive into the deep end and open them all at once, or just hang out in the splash zone of the comments and see what surfaces there.

Please remember that I donโ€™t necessarily know the folks who create the things I link to, and I definitely donโ€™t endorse every single thing that every single person I mention writes, says, or shares. Also, if I link to anything sponsored or an affiliate-ed, that will be clearly marked with the words โ€œsponsoredโ€ or โ€œaffiliate link.โ€

OK on to our seventh CLICK THRU + Iโ€™ll see you in the comments!

WHATโ€™S HAPPENING WITH SOCIAL MEDIA

๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ After a very tumultuous start to the year, Tiktok is back in the app stores and seems to be safe from a ban (for now? at least?).

๐Ÿฆ In the meantime, Bluesky has been trying to do video (sort of).

๐ŸŒฅ๏ธ Speaking of Bluesky, I was intrigued by this article by Renee DiResta on โ€œThe Great Social Media Decentralization.โ€

๐Ÿ“œ And speaking of decentralizationโ€ฆ how do we feel about these timeline apps?

โœˆ๏ธ Google isnโ€™t really social media, but I still think itโ€™s worth noticing that their new AI policy has removed the pledge not to use AI for weapons or surveillance.

๐Ÿšฆ Once again not social media, but as a fan of quitting things and questioning convenience, I was intrigued by this article on quitting Doordash & Uber Eats.

๐Ÿ“ฉ Oh and LinkedIn has been accused of using private messages to train AI.

๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ For something more funโ€ฆ hereโ€™s a case of life imitating art imitating โ€ฆ social media imitating life? Iโ€™m fascinated by this influencer turning her guest room into a boutique hotel bar.
